Kupkari (game of horse – riders). During the holiday sounds everywhere the music, theatrical performance and concerts are arranged, competitions and games will be organized as well. One of such games is Kupkari (competition of horse –riders).

This game reminds the game polo, but it requires of participants in the game hardness, courage and adroitness. In the game there are approximately from 100 to 500 participants. The purpose of the game is to bring to the finish sheep or ram, which they drive in to the game.
That who will be the first to bring the sheep to the finish, will get prize. Prizes are different: carpet, furniture, automobile and etc…
Nowadays, various types of Kupkari are played: as a sporting event, competition in honor of the national holidays or due to family celebrations. Each type of game has its own characteristics. As usual, Kupkari is played in spring or autumn seasons.

It is played during the national festival Navruz, as the people celebrate the oriental New Year on March 21. But the most popular and spectacular one is of course, the wedding game. Numerous horsemen from all over the nation compete in such games to win valuable prizes such as camels, horses, ox, sheep or embroidered veils or saddles for horses.

National Uzbek sport game Kupkari is worth see. This game is not just a demonstration of endurance, agility and strength of the riders and horses, but at the same time is an indication of hospitality, friendliness, honesty and good desirability.
