Conditions and details about Horse tour in Kyrgyzstan

The best time to go on a tour: from 10 th of July till the begging of September.
Altitude along the route: from 1600 meters to 4000 meters.
Breed of the riding horse: Kyrgyz mountain horse.
The saddle type: Kyrgyz national saddles or endurance riding saddle, soft saddles.
The main horse gait: Walk
Accommodations and guest house: Guest houses and tents during the trekking.
Accompaniment: Local guide, horse holder, guide-translator, cook.
The amount of people in a tour group: from 3 to not more than 10 people.

The price of the tour includes: meeting and send off to the airport, transport service, registration at the Department of Visa and registration, accommodations in Bishkek and village Tamga in the guest houses, accommodations in tents during the trekking, horse rent, equipment, kitchen equipment, equipment for the camp, meals on the route, guide and horse holder service.

The price doesn't include: souvenirs, alcohol drinks, medical service and a personal sleeping bag.

There might be some slight changes during the tour, due to weather, natural or other conditions.
You should have you personal equipment for the trip, including your personal sleeping bag, sleeping pad, cap, boots or high boots, gloves and helmet.

Notes on safety during the Horse ride tour

1. Participants of the equestrian route should observe the following rules: thoroughly clean the area of the trash after staying at the camps, trash must be picked up and taken away with the tour group or it could be burnt in a bonfire while staying at the camp. Tins must be burnt in fire, after what they should be flatten by stones and left at the bonfire place.
2. Participants must not sit on a bareback horse, do not ride a horse to an area with low growing trees, do not throw the rein out of hands and do not wind the rein around hands while riding a horse and do not put feet too deep into stirrups.
3. During the riding the horses or during the stops it is strictly forbidden to stop in a random cluster of horses ( it might be dangerous), if the rider group needed to stop the column of the riders should be reconstructed in a row.
4. While riding in the forest participants shouldn't try to force a horse to move by pushing a tree with hand or foot, participants also should mind their head while moving throw low growing trees and bushes.
5. Packhorse should be led by man, either it could be led by holding it's rein in hand or it also could be tied up to the tail of the horse in front. It is forbidden to bind the packhorse's rein around hands, overwhelm it by a loop or bind it up to any parts of other horse equipment and saddle.
6. If a horse starts to move by itself without your permission, for example if a horse changed to faster gait you should stop it at the begging by confident straining of a horse rein. Later it would be harder to take a horse under control. If a horse completely got out of control you should keep yourself seated in the saddle and try to stop the horse. In that kind of case a tour-leader (horse guide) should help the tourist immediately by stopping a horse.
7. While crossing a river the participants should release feet from the stirrups and unbuckle the backpack belt. Do not hurry a horse while crossing a river. If a horse started to swim participants should jump oh the horse to the river current side and hold the saddle.
8. Participants shouldn't leave horses tied to trees and bushes to feed during the night on a steep hill.
9. Very important for the participants is to have an insurance policy made at their place of residency in case of accidents and injuries.

Pack horse

The load on a horse should be tightly and securely attached to the saddle. Stuff such a clothes and heavy equipment is packed into dense waterproof canvas trunks.
There are special small bags on the back of the saddle of a Saddle horse called Suminy (kurzhumi), which usually filled with personal things, first aid kit, tent, light equipment and sleeping bag. Trunks and bags with photo and video equipment could be attached to the front part of saddle.
